United States
There is no general federal right to return purchases in the US; return windows are mostly set by each retailer. Federal law does protect you on credit card billing errors, unauthorized electronic payments and airline refunds.

Canada
Consumer protection in Canada is mainly provincial, so your rights depend on where you live. Air travel is covered nationally by the Air Passenger Protection Regulations.

United Kingdom
UK law gives you 30 days to reject faulty goods for a full refund, and 14 days to cancel most online and phone purchases. Credit card purchases between £100 and £30,000 also get Section 75 protection.

European Union
EU law gives you 14 days to withdraw from most online and off-premises purchases, and a minimum two-year legal guarantee on faulty goods. Air passengers are protected by Regulation 261/2004.

Australia
The Australian Consumer Law gives automatic consumer guarantees on goods and services. If there is a major failure, you can choose a refund. There is no legal right to a change-of-mind refund.

India
India's Consumer Protection Act, 2019 protects you against defective goods, deficient services and unfair trade practices. E-commerce platforms must clearly display their return and refund policies.
