Payment disputes, chargebacks and failed payments
Card disputes, chargebacks, PayPal, bank transfers, UPI and failed payments.
Short answer: how you paid decides how you can get your money back if a merchant won't refund you.
- Credit cards usually offer the strongest protection.
- Debit cards rely mainly on card-network chargeback rules.
- Bank transfers and instant payments (such as UPI or Zelle) are much harder to reverse once sent.

Frequently asked questions
Is a chargeback the same as a refund?
No. A refund comes from the merchant. A chargeback is a reversal your card issuer makes through the card network after you dispute a charge. Contact the merchant first; issuers usually expect you to have tried.
